Leanne Hunt

Sky Barre Movement Studio

This presentation explores the powerful relationship between Pilates and strength training, and why combining both is essential for long-term health, mobility, and well-being. Attendees will learn how Pilates principles such as breath, control, alignment, and stability can enhance strength training outcomes, whilst progressive strength work supports bone density, muscle mass, confidence, and longevity as we age. Through education, practical demonstrations and real-life application, this session will show how intelligent movement can help people move better, feel stronger and stay capable for life.

The presentation would be suited to the broader Pilates community. Instructors, upcoming instructors and those passionate about Pilates and wellness.

Leanne will be presenting Building better bodies - where Pilates meets strength at 10:10am.

Expo presenter

Laura Thibaud

Functional Healing

Pilates is well known for developing strength, stability, control and body awareness. Yet many people still experience restricted movement, recurring stiffness, movement compensations or plateaus in their progress.

Discover why mobility plays an important role alongside Pilates; how it isn’t just flexibility, but complements strength and control to support functional movement, allowing joints to move more naturally and muscles to contribute more effectively.

Laura will be presenting A Key to Feel-Good Movement: Discovering how Mobility enhances your Pilates practice at 12:10pm.
